The Orange County Mortgage Assistance Program (MAP) is now open and accepting applications on a first come first serve basis. Map funds are limited and will be reserved once a MAP pre-approved borrower locates a property and provides and executed purchase agreement. Contact us for further information.

  • CRA Panel Discussion: Attention All CRA Officers and Nonprofits
    On October 26, 2016, Affordable Housing Clearinghouse hosted the sold out, Leveraging Resources to improve Community Impact CRA panel discussion. Nonprofit organizations and CRA Officers shared best practices and emphasized the difference in CRA community affairs. We had the pleasure of hosting guest from Los Angeles, Riverside and Orange County. Thank you, California Bank and Trust for hosting us in their training facility. Special thanks to our panelist for sharing their expert advice and to AHC’s advisory committee who helped coordinate and make this event possible.

  • HUD Awards $7.5 Million in NSP2 Funds to Consortium
    Affordable Housing Clearinghouse is in a consortium agreement with Neighborhood Housing Services of Orange County, Orange County Community Housing Corporation, Mary Erickson Community Housing, Habitat for Humanity of Orange County, Irvine Community Land Trust, and Community Housing Resources has been awarded $7.5 million in NSP2 funds. These funds will be used in targeted areas across 129 census tracts affected by high foreclosure and vacancy risk scores.

    The consortium will acquire and rehabilitate 68 foreclosed or abandoned properties for resale and rental and provide financing mechanisms, in the form of homebuyer assistance, for 45 households to purchase and rehabilitate foreclosed homes. These activities will benefit households whose income is at or below 120 percent of area median income, with 25 percent of the funds for households at or below 50 percent of area median income.

    Funded through the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009, this round of NSP grants is being awarded competitively to applicants who developed the most innovative ideas to address the impact foreclosure crisis has had on local communities, while demonstrating that they have the capacity to be responsible stewards of taxpayer dollars.

  • AHC Honors community Leaders at 25th Anniversary Gala

    On March 24, 2016, Affordable Housing Clearinghouse celebrated its 25th Anniversary at the Richard Nixon Library and museum. AHC welcomed over 200 guests to honor: Alan Woo, Melody Winters and Robert A. Johnson.

    While Rick Najera, comedian and nationally acclaimed speaker emceed the event and gave everyone in the room a great laugh. Our guest enjoyed live music from The Moan, a local band that brought its version of soul music to our milestone event.

    Many of the original founders were in attendance to celebrate AHC’s 25th anniversary. We had the honor or hosting Mayor of Lake Forest Scott Voigts who presented AHC with a recognition for our 25 years of serving the community.

  • Housing Resource Fair

    Affordable Housing Clearinghouse in partnership with City of Pico Rivera Chamber of Commerce offered the local community a no cost homebuyer orientation Thursday, June 16. The Orientation took place at the Pico Rivera District Office. Omni Bank and its representatives were there to answer lending questions from attendees. Thank you Pico Rivera Chamber of Commerce and Omni Bank for the partnership.
  • Holiday Housing Mixer

    AHC’s advisory committee hosted the inaugural holiday housing mixer. The topic and presentation of guest speaker Daren Blomquist (V.P. of RealtyTrac) drew a room filled with housing industry professionals who love helping our collective community. The presentation focused on the current housing market trends and what Orange County industry professionals can expect in 2016. The network mixer doubled as a toy drive for Nana’s Kidz program.
