On March 10, 2011, Affordable Housing Clearinghouse celebrated its 20th Anniversary at Costa Mesa’s Turnip Rose. AHC welcomed 200 guests to honor:

Allen P. Baldwin (Spark Plug Award), Orange County Community Housing Corporation
Ron Rohrer (Spirit of Housing), Neighborhood Housing Services of Orange County
Mary Erickson Community Housing (Community Partner Award)
Gary S. Dunn (Cornerstone Award), CapitalSource Bank
While local comedian and community activist Tim Shaw emceed the event, guests were treated to selections from C. Gillette’s Jazz Quartet. Each honoree was voted on by a committee of their peers using various criteria related to affordable housing, commitment to the community, and leadership longevity.
Many of the original founders of the organization were in attendance to celebrate AHC’s milestones including Toni Dwyer, Doug Bystry, Mary Ann Gaido, Melody Nava, Jim Yacenda and a host of others.
In addition to the evenings honorees, Executive Director, Brenda J. Rodriguez presented three $500 grants to high school students pursuing higher education. All three students were selected based on essays they wrote regarding the evenings theme. Congratulations to AHC for a successful event!
